Comparison

TaskQo vs Teramind: performance or insider-risk security.

Teramind is a security product first: insider risk, data loss prevention and continuous recording. TaskQo is a performance product: what got done, how calls went and who needs coaching. The right pick depends on the problem.

Two different jobs

Teramind's strengths are security features: sensitive-data detection, content rules that block actions, SIEM integration, continuous recording and keystroke logging on higher plans. Productivity profiles exist too, where admins mark apps and domains productive, unproductive or unclassified.

TaskQo does not try to be a data loss prevention tool. It focuses on performance: each tracked minute is classified productive, unproductive or idle with the reason and screenshot attached, and calls are transcribed and scored.

How Teramind and TaskQo turn activity into a result. Teramind steps come from its public pages; TaskQo steps from taskqo.com.

Call recording versus call review

Teramind can record audio from a computer's input and output devices; its knowledge base says that as long as a voice call is routed through the computer, it can record it. We found no transcription or call scoring.

When call review is on, TaskQo records both sides of supported calls and meetings during configured shifts. One click on a recording gives a speaker-labelled transcript in 39 languages, a QA score for communication, issue resolution and professionalism, the customer's reaction, and coaching notes a manager can act on. Recording tells you a call happened; review tells you what to coach.

How much monitoring is enough

Teramind offers revealed, standard and stealth agents and, on higher plans, keystroke logging. For an insider-risk investigation that depth can be necessary.

For day-to-day performance it is usually more than you need, and it can cost trust. TaskQo does not record typed text by default (and strips passwords, card numbers and emails if an admin turns it on), captures only inside scheduled shifts, records consent first and shows every team member their own timeline.

Shifts, attendance and pay

Teramind lists time tracking but we found no payroll, shift scheduling or timesheets.

TaskQo includes shift calendars with leave and holidays, overtime, breaks, hourly and salary pay, weekly approval and payroll-ready exports.

Deployment

Teramind supports Windows (including servers, Citrix and VMware Horizon) fully and macOS with limited features, in the cloud or self-hosted.

TaskQo runs as a desktop app with recordings kept in TaskQo storage, encrypted with a key for your organization and deleted on the retention schedule you set.

Pricing

Teramind's pricing page showed us local currency rather than US dollars, so we could not verify its USD prices there. Teramind's own blog lists the Starter plan at $14 per seat per month for 5 seats, billed annually, and a free trial of 7 days in the cloud or 14 days on-premise. Where Teramind is stronger

  • Data loss prevention, content rules and SIEM integration
  • Continuous recording, live view, remote control and OCR search
  • Self-hosted and government deployment options

Switching from Teramind to TaskQo

Some companies keep Teramind for security on a small group of sensitive roles and use TaskQo for performance across the agent floor. Start with one team rather than the whole company. Install the TaskQo desktop app, set the shift schedule and monitoring settings, invite the team, and compare the first few shifts with what your current tool told you. Performance data builds from the first tracked shift.

FAQ

Is TaskQo a good Teramind alternative?

It is if your goal is performance, coaching and client reporting, not data loss prevention. If you need data loss prevention, content rules and SIEM integration, Teramind may still suit you better.

Can Teramind record phone calls?

It can record computer audio, including calls routed through the computer. We found no transcription or AI call scoring on its website.

Is Teramind a productivity tool or a security tool?

Both, but its depth is in security: insider risk, DLP and continuous recording. TaskQo is focused on performance, coaching and call QA.

Does TaskQo log keystrokes?

Not by default. Classifications come from one screenshot per tracked minute plus activity levels.
